Dear Families of Saint Ann’s Academy,
Last week, Saint Ann’s Academy participated in the 40th anniversary of celebrating Catholic Schools Week here in the United States. The theme for this years celebration was Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.
I am comfortable in knowing that as a Catholic School, Saint Ann’s demonstrates these qualities daily, we wouldn’t be a Catholic school if we didn’t. However, The Saint Ann’s Academy truly came together last week in demonstrating Faith, Knowledge and Service.
While I am hesitate to name names for fear of omitting someone/thing I wish to say thank:
Monsignor Mosley for his tireless commitment to Saint Ann’s and his spiritual guidance
The Saint Ann’s Academy students who braved the cold winter elements to attend the 9:00 liturgy
Mrs. Shaffer, Mrs. Furr and the National Junior Honor Society for arranging a fun filled week of showing school spirit beginning with color day and concluding on Friday with some very creative class cheers
The dedicated faculty of Saint Ann’s Academy- for their commitment to the ministry of Catholic education. ( colleagues, somehow providing you with lunch isn’t adequate in showing how much I truly value each one of you)
Mrs. Bowman for her efforts and commitment in assisting every request that came into the Main Office last week and every day
Mr. Brian Blomquist for his willingness to take on additional responsibilities so that I could commit to orchestrating and participating in each of the activities during the week
The parent volunteers who assisted me with a very successful Open House – even a two hour opening delay couldn’t keep people away! Mrs. Bowman and I were welcoming visitors in the door as early as 8:15 in the morning.
The Home and School Association for everyone’s boundless energy and dedication- parental involvement is the only way any activity here at Saint Ann’s can be successful
Mrs. Neal for not only donating the proceeds of her book to Saint Ann’s but also for her hard work in preparing my 3rd grade friends for a flawless Wax Museum at the Grandmother’s Tea
Mr. Gary and his staff for their hard work and dedication -( dedication and hard work that didn’t end with one event but involved several, sometimes two or three in a day!) I was amazed how Mr. Gary transformed the gym for the tea- stunning!
It is my hope that Saint Ann’s Academy will be participating for the next 40 years in Catholic Schools Weeks- but I need everyone’s help NOW!
If you haven’t pre- registered your child on line for the academic year 2024-2015 please do so immediately! Every current student received a link by email to register thru TADS. If you can’t find the email for some reason, please notify Mrs. Bowman and she will assist you. Again, put your words of love for Saint Ann’s into action by pre-registering your child, giving to the Annual Fund, purchasing Scrip and bringing in at least one new family to Saint Ann’s!
Finally, thank you for your kind words, emails and most importantly prayers these past three days while I have been in New York for my medical appointments and treatments. My doctors continue to assure me that I am three quarters out of the woods! I ask that you please continue to keep me in your prayers.
Warm regards,
Thomas Wharton
